Please join the Parent Association for our monthly meeting to discuss upcoming Spring events and volunteer opportunities like the Annual Spring Auction, PA Book fair, Mayfaire and more!

Please check-in at the Lobby before preceding to the Library. Kindly note, we will be starting promptly at 8:45 AM!

* Monday, April 11 – Friday, April 15 – Parent Association Clothing Swap:

Location: Cafeteria

The PA Spring Clothing Swap will be open for ‘thrifting’ the week of April 11-15. Parents can swing by the Cafeteria from 8:30-9:30 AM + 1:45-2:45 PM.
We will continue accepting donations throughout the week of the Clothing Swap.
Anything goes – tops, pants, dresses, sweaters, rain gear, etc.! Both children and adult items are welcome.
Please help our volunteers by labeling your donations – we will be sorting by age and size.
Items remaining in the Lost & Found after Friday, April 15 will be donated to a local shelter ~ thanks for your understanding!

*Friday April 15 – Spring Egg Hunt + Courtyard Picnic: 3:30-5:00 PM
 Location: Play Yards and Courtyard

 Please join us for the annual Spring Egg Hunt, after school on Friday, April 15! The Egg Hunt is a Middle School fundraiser for the Grade 8 Capstone trip ~ each child Pre-K through Grade 5 to hunt for 10 eggs for $5.00. Bring a basket from home or purchase a basket for $1.00. Parents with younger children are welcome to walk through the hunt to assist. After you’ve finished hunting for eggs, we hope you will join us for a community picnic in the Courtyard! Class Hardy (Grade 5) will also be hosting a bake sale from 3:30-5:00 PM to raise funds for their Pentathlon trip ~ so bring a blanket/lawn chair, a couple of extra dollars for bake sale treats, and a pitcher of iced tea to enjoy with fellow WSL families!

*Saturday, April 16Feed Louisville Sandwich Assembly (Grades 3/4 &5)
Location: Cafeteria

 We are thrilled to be partnering with Feed Louisville to make sandwiches for people experiencing homelessness. This weekend, we are inviting all Class Eger & Class Hardy families (parents/guardians and children) to join us in this fun and super easy volunteer opportunity!

*Thursday, April 21Community-Wide Parent Education Night 6:00- 7:30 PM
Location: Cafeteria

Kristin Langley (EC) & Rob Lanier (MS) will be discussing appropriate sensory diets (media/technology, food, and more) that support the Waldorf curriculum and how parents can work to establish frameworks for these ‘diets’ at home.

*Friday, April 22 Earth Day Beautification 3:00-6:00 PM

Please join us as we celebrate Earth Day and work on various outdoor beautification projects! Here are some of the projects: a) creating a ‘Community Circle’ near the Grades drop-off/pick-up awning, complete with native pollinators and a tree stump seating area for parents to gather and chat, b) relocating tall grasses from around campus to create a natural barrier between the Blacktop and the Early Childhood play yards, c) adding herbaceous plants to the Courtyard, and d) planting a few trees around campus. All current and former families/students are welcome to join us!

*Thursday, April 28Parent Association Book Fair 2:00-5:00 PM

Location: Outside, Across From the Main Entrance
We are seeking donations of all kinds. Whether you have gently used children’s books, untouched cookbooks, treasured adult novels, or family-friendly board games – your donation will inspire our community to continue growing as learners while also raising important funds for the WSL Parent Association!
Paperback books will cost $1.00 | Hardcover books and board games will cost $3.00
We will be accepting donations the week of Monday, Apr. 18 – Tuesday, Apr. 26.
Volunteers needed to help continually organize books by genre, age, etc.! If you are available to help to sort books and set up the Book Faire, please email Claudia Blum at cjblum22@gmail.com!

Volunteers needed Thursday, Apr. 28 to help:

a) Set-Up (11:00 AM – 2:00 PM)

b) Host (2:00-5:00 PM)

c) Tear-Down (5:00-6:00 PM)

RSVP For The Auction

This May, we invite you to join us {free-of-charge} as we gather together to jam to festive bluegrass music, feast on delicious BBQ (veg. options too!), sip on cocktails prepared by mixologists from Never Say Die bar, and raise vital funds for our Variable Tuition.

In preparation for the event, we are asking each family to RSVP by midnight on Friday, April 15.

Summer Camp 2022: Registration Now Open

Click the image above to learn more and register for WSL Summer Camp, serving children from age 4 to rising 8th graders. With program options for curious kids such as cooking, ukulele, exploring nature, and more, there are adventures for all waiting to be had this summer break on our campus!

After Care with Olivia

Did you know that our after care program for students is run by Olivia Pendleton, WSL’s Movement and Games teacher? Students can continue their day past pickup time until 5:30 PM. Children use our gym and outdoor spaces to connect with friends while engaging in various planned activities, or taking time to read or relax on their own! A lost and found area has been established! If you’re missing an item and would like to take a look at what’s been left behind on campus, please see a member of Administration to provide you with access.
 
Items remaining in the Lost & Found after Friday, April 15 will be donated to a local shelter ~ thanks for your understanding!
