WELCOME TO WALDORF

Throughout the school year, we will continue to spotlight new WSL Teaching & Administrative Faculty ~ we hope you enjoy getting to learn more about the extraordinary people who have recently joined our community!

Maggie Soeder
Music substitute

maggie

Maggie Soeder, serving as our new music sub, is super excited to begin sharing music with us. While music has always been a part of her life, from youth choirs, playing flute and handbells, even performing in musicals during her Theater Performance major, it wasn’t until she started taking her own 3 kids to music classes that she discovered how much she loves and finds joy in making and sharing music with other families.

A Music Together teacher for more than 10 years and a music & movement instructor around the city, she has been enthusiastically moving and grooving with some of her favorite people…kids of ALL ages! They inspire her to be, not only a better teacher and musician, but a better human, even a better parent. She is beyond excited to continue her own musical journey here with us.

Olivia Pendleton
Games & Movement
Grades Extended Care

olivia
Hello, my name is Olivia Pendleton. I am the Grades Movement and Games teacher as well as the Grades Extended Care teacher here at the Waldorf School of Louisville. I have over 3 years of extended care experience and previously worked as an Outdoor Environmental Educator in Orcas Island, Washington.

I am currently a student at the University of Louisville, where I studied abroad in Dubai, U.A.E.! I am looking forward to graduating this December and I plan to go on to get my Master’s degree in Education. I enjoy being active and being outdoors, especially when I’m hiking with my dogs! I love working with your kiddos, and I am looking forward to even more adventures this school year!

Xander Sun Rae
EC Extended Care

xander
Xander (they/them) joins WSL after years of caring for animals on sanctuaries, and they are excited to bring their nurturing personality to our community.

They teach body movement classes, build cob earthen structures, and write music when they aren’t at school. Xander is overjoyed by how much there is to learn from each child, and is grateful to work with such a special school.

Fern Erhard
Director of EC Extended Care

20211005_104740
Fern Erhard (she/her) returns to WSL after spending some time living on the west coast where she worked as a Waldorf teacher then studied herbalism and gardening.

She can often be found making music, creating art, or exploring on hikes with her family. She is so grateful to be caring for your children and getting to know each of you on our beautiful new campus.

Larissa Nemeth
Marketing

image
Larissa is a native of New Jersey, but has spent her adult years residing in Southeastern Pennsylvania. After graduating from Emerson College in Boston with a BS in Communications Studies, she gained skills in various industries before finding a niche in the burgeoning field of digital marketing for nonprofits.

She finds great joy in connecting people to wonderful resources, sparking engaging conversation, and fostering community in the digital (and analog!) realm. She’s moving to Kentucky with her husband, two children, two cats and one dog, where she is excited to explore the many natural areas of the state in her free time. She’s an avid writer, reader, houseplant owner, baker and music-lover. Larissa could not be more thrilled to join Waldorf of Louisville as they look to elevate the message of their mission throughout the greater Louisville community.

20-21 Yearbook / Lyndon Campus Memorybook

This past year has been rather unusual… and the 2020-21 yearbook will reflect all the strangeness and beauty that transpired! Because many of our beloved festivals and faires didn’t take place in their traditional form this year, we need your help to ensure the magic of Waldorf is captured in the 2020-21 yearbook.

If you have photos from this past school year, or from years prior that capture your favorite memories from Lyndon campus, please email them to yearbook@waldorflouisville.com

The hybrid 20-21 Yearbook / Lyndon Campus Memorybook will be available for pick-up at our new Rock Creek Campus later this Fall for $30.00.

Please CLICK HERE to complete the pre-order form – once the books are available, you will receive a follow-up email confirming your preferred payment method.
